Airtel users across India are facing a network disruption, with Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata among the worst-hit cities. Other major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Surat, and Ahmedabad also reported connectivity issues.
According to DownDetector, complaints about the Airtel outage peaked at 12:15 PM, with 7,109 reports submitted regarding the network crash.
Cities Affected
While Bengaluru bore the brunt of the outage, users from the following locations also reported disruptions:
- Delhi
- Chennai
- Mumbai
- Hyderabad
- Kolkata
- Surat
- Ahmedabad
The DownDetector map indicates that the outage was widespread, affecting both mobile network and internet services.
Airtel Response
Airtel Cares acknowledged the issue, attributing it to a temporary connectivity disruption. The company stated that the problem is expected to be resolved within one hour. Users were advised to restart their mobile phones once services are restored.
“We apologise for the inconvenience. The issue you’re facing appears to be due to a temporary connectivity disruption and is expected to be resolved within 1 hour. Once that time has passed, please restart your mobile phone to restore services,” Airtel Cares said.

By 1 PM, DownDetector reported a recovery in complaints, though over 150 users still reported issues around 4 PM.

Social media users expressed frustration over the outage, particularly about the lack of timely communication from Airtel:
